Hello Country Folk...Uncle Rhubarb is Here!

As many know, we've been planning on putting our name in bright lights and working on our advertising but our advertising man can't get it together enough to even do our business cards nevermind practice his saxophone. So finally it takes a funeral to get him to move his rear and put the fear of death in him to accomplish creating anything at all. So before the business cards get going he thinks to make a blog. What he does not know is that he isn't bright enough to write anything worth reading. So he just sits and thinks of playing his saxophone and writing about absolutely nothing worthy of a first post on the grand Uncle Rhubarb blog. So I guess he should practice and stop thinking and maybe one day we'll have business cards. Oh yeah....Welcome to the Home of Uncle Rhubarb in Blogland!

  1. Well, after Greg Hackett's service at the East Woodstock Congregational Church I felt exhausted and drained. 1 song. Wiped out. Of course, the song was "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" with lyrics rewritten for the occasion and we were standing in front of a large group of mourning friends. I spent days agonizing over which guitar to bring...a dreadnought with its powerful tone? a smaller, parlor guitar with its lovely string clarity? That sort of obsession wore me out, I think. But I'm glad we did it. I think the song was well presented--and we got a chance to play with Banjo bob Kirk again. Felt good. And let's not forget the invitation to The Fairbanks (AK) Folk Festival in late January 2011.
So, here's a request to all our devoted fans: Who will drive a large Winnebago from Woodstock, Ct to Anchorage, Ak in January?? Should be a 3 week round trip. 15 minutes of stage time. 3 songs. Not "Knockin on Heaven's Door". Not that one. "Big Bamboo" for sure.
